Scripture
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
— Psalm 51:10 (KJV)
Reflection
There are sacred moments when faith moves beyond routine and becomes a living, breathing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Spiritual renewal often comes during seasons of brokenness—when we finally recognize how deeply we need Him.
It is in those quiet surrenders that Jesus meets us, not with condemnation, but with grace. He restores what is worn, revives what feels lifeless, and plants within us a renewed spirit—steady, hopeful, and anchored in Him. True renewal is not something we can produce on our own; it is the work of Christ within us, drawing us closer into His presence day by day.
Real-Life Story
C. S. Lewis was once a committed atheist, relying solely on logic and human reasoning. Yet deep within him was a longing he could not explain—a quiet emptiness that intellect alone could not satisfy.
Through friendships and thoughtful conversations, especially with believers who reflected the love and truth of Jesus Christ, Lewis began to reconsider his beliefs. Step by step, his heart softened. What began as resistance turned into openness, and openness into surrender.
Lewis later described his conversion as being “surprised by joy.” That joy was not abstract—it was the presence of Jesus transforming his heart. His spiritual renewal led him to become one of the most influential Christian voices of the twentieth century, writing works that continue to point millions toward Christ.
His story reminds us of a powerful truth: no heart is too distant, and no mind too skeptical, for Jesus to renew.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Draw me closer to Jesus Christ. Fill me with Your presence, and help me walk with You each day in faith, love, and obedience.
Amen.
Action Step
